But I can’t pronounce any of them! Seriously, who makes up this stuff? How is my mother so good at this? How am I her daughter? She’s a genius, and I’m average! Why did I not inherit her wits? I keep asking her, “Hey Mom, do you think we can say this spell in good ol’ vernacular English? Would it still work then?” And she says “Nope. It only works if we say it all fancy in this weird language.” 

Dad’s magic is pretty weird though too. I don’t even use verbal spells half the time. It’s just based on thought and concentration. What stinks sometimes when I’m doing my mom’s magic is sometimes I’m so concentrated on the spell that my horn will end up doing the magic instead of the brew. :/
